Enjoy meals prepared by Award Winning Chef Ed and taste the finest pastries this side of Heaven made by Carol.
We prefer reservations in advance for meals as we use and source locally grown and organic ingredients but can usually accommodate last minute requests.
Any menus you see are samples because we always source local and the freshest ingredients so the wines and final menu will change based on the season and availablity of local fresh "farm-to-table" ingredients.
We offer special wine pairing dinners year around so check out the special events calendar for dates, menus, and wine choices.
We have a West Virginia Beer and Wine License. We offer a variety of craft beers for sale with meals or to enjoy at the Inn. We also offer domestic and imported wines by the bottle or by the glass.
A typical breakfast to start your day begins with a hearty gourmet breakfast. If you are an early riser, enjoy a cup of Freshly Roasted Flavored Coffee or one of our many exotic coffees chosen from our travels around the world while watching Ed prepare your breakfast feast. We alternate between sweet and savory entrees daily starting your meal with a choice of fresh juices, a homemade baked delight, fresh fruit with a special topping, or a fresh fruit smoothie in the summertime. A typical savory entrée might include omelets made to order, Eggs Florentine, “Farmer’s Casserole”, or an Egg Frittata all served with roasted or rosemary potatoes. A sweet entrée might include our “Sleep Late French Toast”, Banana Pecan Pancakes, or Orange Croissant French Toast served with our Grand Mariner infused Maple Syrup. All entrees are served with bacon, sausage, or honey baked ham.
Gourmet Picnic Lunches are a big favorite for the lunchtime meal or those arriving too late for normal dinner times. These can be prepared in a backpack to take with you on your hike, as you float through the canyon on the South Fork of the Potomac, or in a picnic basket to enjoy on the front porch of the Inn. We offer a choice of ham, roast beef, turkey, or veggie options served on a croissant, ciabatta, or Hearty 8 Grain InnKeeper’s bread. These deli sandwiches come with a choice of cheeses, lettuce, tomato, onion, and choice of dressings. We include Route 11 chips, fresh fruit, baby carrots, cookies, chocolates, and bottled water or your choice of soft drinks. The picnic basket serves 2 people and the cost is $25.00. Many have leftovers, as it is a lot to eat.
Casual Dining is offered at the Inn for Sunday through Friday evenings. A typical wintertime meal would start with our Southwestern Pork Green Chili, Cheesy Potato Soup, or Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup. Your entrée might include lemon garlic chicken, roast pork loin, fresh trout, shrimp scampi, or spaghetti with Italian Meatballs. We also are skilled at creating many vegetarian options and can accommodate all special dietary requests. Your meal would also include a starch such as garlic mashed potatoes, hand cut French Fries, and a vegetable like sugar snap peas, fresh sweet corn, zucchini, or summer squash. Finish your meal with fresh fruit cobbler with vanilla ice cream, Russian Cake, or “Carol’s Very Moist Chocolate Cake”. We offer tea, regular or decaffeinated coffee. We offer a great selection of wines either by the bottle or by the glass.
Often on Friday evening we offer our “famous on 5 continents” BBQ Baby Back Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Hand Cut French Fries, Cole Slaw, Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad, Baked Beans, Mexican Cornbread, Appalachian Stew, and Fresh Fruit Cobbler ala mode. We serve Lemonade, but also offer wine by the glass or bottle.
Cost is $30.00 per person.
Fine Dining is a special event on Saturday evenings at the Inn. We start off with a complimentary wine tasting of 5-6 fine wines from around the world. Join European Trained Sommelier Ed as he leads you on a guided wine tour of some of the best wine regions of the world. Whether you are a beginner or an accomplished connoisseur, you will find Ed’s wine tastings fun, educational, and entertaining. Along with the wines, you will enjoy great palate teasers such as Roasted Red Pepper Humus served on Bretton Crackers, Tatzezeki served on Garlic Panetini Toasts, Fresh Fruit, or Assorted Cheeses.
The Appetizer Course might include Spanikopita, Veggie Quesadilla, Bruschetta, or Smoked Salmon garnished with capers, sour cream and fresh dill. This would be followed by one of Ed’s signature soups such as Cream of Wild Mushroom, Oprah’s Corn Chowder, New England Clam Chowder, Smoked Oyster Stew, French Onion Soup, or his famous Tuscan Stew. The main course could be Wild Alaskan Salmon with a Thai Chili Glaze, Maryland Style Crab Cakes, Roasted Pork Loin or Chicken Marsala made with wild and exotic mushrooms, or a Rib eye topped with boursin cheese. This would be accompanied by a starch such as garlic mashed potatoes or rice pilaf and a fresh vegetable medley. Desserts include the North Fork Mountain Inn Chocolate Soufflé, Carmel Apple Pie, Kentucky Derby Pie, or any of the many exotic dessert delights created by Carol. We offer tea, regular or decaffeinated coffee with the meal. We offer a great selection of wines either by the bottle or by the glass at an extra cost.
